Why Garden? Mycobacterium vaccae is a bacterium found in soil that increases serotonin production, which actually makes you feel more relaxed and happy!

This bacterium is actually an anti-depressant with no side-effects, no issues of over-exposure, and no dependency hooks. The mycobacterium vaccae are even under study to see if they really improve cognitive function as well. So, Will Ferrel here is right, gardening brings serenity!

But, Uh Oh! You don't have a garden.

Well worry no more, because the Todd Community Gardens are here to help.

The fourth Saturday of every month, Todd opens it's community gardens to volunteer gardeners. Not only that, but you get step-by-step instructions and practical guidance on how to do most of the work.

Now, there are no excuses for staying home on a beautiful Saturday! Those of you who have kept up with my blogs know that the community gardens provide food for the mobile market called Todd's Table.

Another "myth" about gardening- plants grow faster when you talk to them- is actually proven true! Well... plants do grow faster when exposed to vibrations and wind, and your vocal chords create the vibes that help the plants survive!

A gardener's interaction makes plants grow faster and stronger, therefore making the harvest more resilient and bountiful. Fortunately for the relationship, both the planter and the plant benefit from the interaction, so there is no need to cancel your next date.

Set your calendars for August 26, 2017, and get ready to garden!!

See you soon!
