On the home page of my blog, you see three little boxes that connect to outside pages. I wanted to take this opportunity to explain the "Goals to achieve," "Places to be," and "Reasons to care".
The first- goals to achieve- sends you to an article posted by The Appalachian's Lauren Burrows from September 2015. The article goes to explain some of the Global Goals of Sustainable Development set by the United Nations. This article explains why every generation must step up and take responsibility and action towards achieving the Global Goals. The Global Goals mean a lot to me, and you, because we have to act locally to act globally. I may update the link to a different article in the future, but it can also be found by the hyperlink above.
The second- places to be- sends you to a PDF of a research paper that I wrote this past semester. The research paper engages with classical writer Henry David Thoreau, sustainability science literature, social psychology, modernization literature, and environmentalism research. This research paper is not only a result of my own hard work, but that of many other scholars. This paper will argue that sense of place is vital to sustainability, but is attacked by the economy’s promotion of sense of work, and therefore needs the help of individuals and their places to strengthen the fight. I do not intend to change this link, and although it is a bit lengthy, I would love to share my work regardless.
The third- reasons to care- sends you to a blog by James Michael Sama, posted in 2014. His article explain 7 reasons why caring is a strength. I personally love this article, it reminds and inspires me to actively care about others in pursuit of a healthier life and healthier community. I find this last article very uplifting.
Hopefully you will enjoy these resources as much as I do, and if you think of any other resources that would pair nicely, let me know! For easier access to these in the future, you can scroll to the bottom of my home page and click on something that looks like this...

See you soon!
